Consider Donating To The Colorado Law Enforcement Memorial

February 23, 2017

The Colorado Law Enforcement Memorial at Camp George West is undergoing major improvements. There is still a need for financial contributions to complete the work. The Colorado Law Enforcement Memorial has a web page where donations can be made.

According to its website, the Colorado Law Enforcement Memorial was founded by Ted Rosack (1927-1998) in 1979 as a tribute to Colorado's fallen peace officers. It has been funded by Shirley L. Brown, Chairman, SLB Company, Inc.

The Memorial site is in a small grove of trees by the State Patrol Academy, 15055 South Golden Road, Golden, CO, 80401. Each May, a ceremony is held to honor the officers named on the memorial.

The record of fallen officers was prepared by retired State Patrol Captain Keith Dameron with help from Candy Jones, Craig LeVere, Richard Lundquist, Sheryl Ratzell, Ron Richardson, Chris Skeers, Sherrill Warford, Stefanie Copley and Michelle Lopez. Research came primarily from newspaper accounts and departmental records. In some cases, information was sketchy. Every attempt was made to accurately summarize the available information."
