Invitation to Police Week Celebration of the Law Enforcement MemorialMarch 10, 2017 Senator Cooke and The Colorado State Legislature are, once again, hosting members of the law enforcement community to honor fallen officers and highlight the impact of the profession on the community. The annual event, which includes a reading of the names of fallen officers and the adoption of a resolution, will be held on the 28th of March in the a.m. on both the House and Senate Floors. The event will start at 9 but we would like for folks to arrive around 8:30 to coordinate entry onto the floor of the Senate Chambers. If you would like to attend, please RSVP by sending an email with the title "Law Enforcement Memorial" to Jesse Jensen ([email protected]). All law enforcement are welcome, but please attend wearing full uniform. Limited parking will be available at CML Offices at 1144 Sherman (Check in to their front office). For everyone else, there is paid parking available to the East of the Capitol along Grant. The challenges faced by agency heads and departments to honorably memorialize officers who have died in the line of duty, and care for their families and department personnel are daunting. The sad reality is there will be more, and your agency could be next.
The Colorado Fallen Hero Foundation (CFHF) will bring together multi-agency professionals with a variety of specialized skills to respond,and assist any organization with a memorial service befitting a hero as needed.
