I was surprised, pleased, and humbled to be honored as your Citizen Volunteer of the Year at your recent meeting. I appreciate the confidence Chief Henninger has in me and the value he places on my performance. I volunteer to help the Vail Police Department ensure the safety of our citizens and guests. I enjoy my duties and look forward to every volunteer opportunity. My relationship with and respect for the officers and staff are the reasons my experience has been so rewarding. The challenges faced by agency heads and departments to honorably memorialize officers who have died in the line of duty, and care for their families and department personnel are daunting. The sad reality is there will be more, and your agency could be next.
The Colorado Fallen Hero Foundation (CFHF) will bring together multi-agency professionals with a variety of specialized skills to respond,and assist any organization with a memorial service befitting a hero as needed.
