IACP 4th Vice President Sends His Gratitude To CACP

Posted: November 16, 2017

CACP Members:

I want to thank all of the members of the Colorado Association of Chiefs of Police, and the entire Colorado law enforcement community, for helping me win the 4th Vice President of the International Association of Chiefs of Police election last month in Philadelphia!

It was not easy to beat two other candidates from the East Coast; it required a run-off on Tuesday morning, in which I won 60% of the vote.  This would not have been possible, except for many of you changing your flights, or talking with your friends to encourage them to vote a second time for the run-off.  I was very pleased that almost as many people voted the second day as on the first day of the election!

I particularly want to thank the following who went out of their way to help me!  Cory Christensen (Steamboat), Tom Wickman (Frisco), Dave Shipley (CISC), Kevin Klein (DHSEM), Stan Hilkey and Bec Spiess (CDPS), Mark Savage, Matt Packard, George Dingfelder, Steve Garcia and Scott Hernandez (CSP), Gary Barbour (Frederick), Joe Ribeiro (Manitou), Greg Daly and Coby Cosper (Avon), Craig Bettis, Kris Cureau, Jennifer Kirkland, Justin Liffick and Chris Botkins (Vail), Kamran Afzal (Durango) and the entire CELL crew.  You all looked great in neon green!  I am sure I missed some others too, sorry and a big thanks to all that helped in Philly!

With my new role as the 4th VP of IACP, I want to help CACP members with their IACP needs, please let me know if I can be of any assistance on any issues or concerns, if you have an interest in joining an IACP committee, or any other needs.  Cory Christensen has already booked a hotel for the Orlando Conference for CACP members.  Cory or I will get that information out soon; the dates for that conference are October 6th – 9th, 2018.  Hope to see you there!

A big thanks to the CACP Board for being my first state chief’s association endorsement, to CACP for being my fiscal agent and for all of the wonderful words of encouragement from many of you!  I could not have been successful without all of you!

Sincerely,
Dwight Henninger
