Pandemic in Rural Areas Webinar

The National Sheriffs’ Association and CRI-TAC (Collaborate Reform Initiative- Technical Assistance Center) has a webinar called Pandemic in the Prairies being held December 3rd, 2020 from 3pm-4pm (EST).

Webinar description: While much of the coverage related to COVID-19 has been on its affect in metropolitan regions, rural areas and small cities are not immune from its reach. Rural sheriff’s offices and smaller police departments face challenges in accessing proper PPE, funding, and capacity for staffing – a COVID-positive test could take an employee out of rotation and leave the agency significantly short-staffed. This webinar will discuss the impact of COVID-19 on rural and small agencies’ operations, including patrol, jail operations, and court security.

Presenters:

Sheriff Jim Allard, Steuben County Sheriff’s Office, New York
Sheriff Bill Brueggemann, Cass County Sheriff’s Office, Nebraska
Chief Tom Weitzel, Riverside Police Department, Illinois

For questions, please contact: Kristi Barksdale at [email protected]
