Small Company. Great Results. Quality partnerships.

FirstIdea was founded in 1989.  Since then, we have been specializing in the recruitment and selection of Police and Fire personnel including written tests and, most notably, assessment centers. In addition, we help other public sector and private organizations hire the best personnel.  FirstIdea is noted for its innovative techniques in incorporating an organization’s mission, values, goals, and philosophy into its selection and promotional systems.

We have over 60 years of combined testing experience with Fire, Police, public sector and private organizations across the nation.  Every one of our consultants holds a Master’s and/or Doctorate degrees in Industrial/Organizational Psychology. Unlike other consulting firms who hand you off to “account executives” or other people who are inadequately trained and educated, at FirstIdea, our clients work with the same team of consultants from the beginning to the end of the project.

We are also proud to announce that we have received national certification as a Women’s Business Enterprise by Women’s Business Enterprise National Council (WBENC).  WBENC’s national standard of certification implemented by the Women’s Business Development Center is a meticulous process including an in-depth review of the business and site inspection. The certification process is designed to confirm the business is at least 51% owned, operated and controlled by a woman or women.  By including women-owned businesses among their vendors, corporations, and government agencies demonstrate their commitment to fostering diversity.

We are looking forward to meeting you at the conference!!

Work Smarter not Harder this year with SmartForce™

Is your agency trying to be more proactive in reducing crime now that your calls for service times are good?  Are you trying to move from paper processes to electronic workflows and early warning systems for improved use of force reporting and other professional standards needs?

Whether your 2017 focus is on reducing crime or better management of professional standards, the new SmartForce™ features of SmartIntel and SmartIA may be of interest to you.

Our SmartIntel module can help direct the units and departments responsible for thwarting crime in particular areas of your cities and counties with tactical information and intelligence at their fingertips.  Reporting and accountability is available so you can see what officers and teams are having the most impact on reducing crime during their un-committed time.  And with our electronic shift briefing, there is more accountability for making sure assignments are completed in a timely fashion and officers are more informed when coming back onto their shifts.

With SmartIA, our response to resistance module is helping track de-escalation efforts of officers and offers an early warning intervention system that can be triggered based on your requirements of quantity and timing of use of force incidents, complaints, and pursuits.  You can even electronically attach body worn camera video and other photos of evidence to the use of force reports in SmartIA.

Let Adventos help you continue to improve and work smarter not harder this year.  For more education or an on-site demonstration, please contact Brian McGrew, VP of Education, at brian.mcgrew@adventos.com or call direct 817-247-4102.

We often hear that officers spend more time sitting at a computer than in the field. They’re working for their technology, when their technology should be working for them. Let’s change that.

Join us at our Axon Accelerate Conference on June 20-21, 2017 to help us continue to build the technology that will let you focus on what really matters.

Register now at axon.io/conference and use the unique code: COChiefs17 to get $100 your registration.

Also coming up soon – Denver Demo Dinner taking place on March 8, 2017.

The event acts as an educational opportunity for the attending agencies, followed by a dinner and more intimate round-table discussion of current topics facing police departments in the field today.
