Division of Local Government is assembling a committee for the Law Enforcement Community Services Grant Program

Posted: Feb 9, 2022

The Division of Local Government (DLG) is in the process of assembling a committee for the Law Enforcement Community Services (LECS) Grant Program as defined in Section 3 of (C.R.S) 24-32-124 (click here). In addition to other committee assignments, the statute calls for the Governor to appoint "a representative of a statewide organization of chiefs of police".

DOLA will chair this committee and DLG's Executive Director, Chantal Unfug, has been appointed as the committee chair.

The responsibilities of this committee will be to:

1. To make recommendations to the executive director on the policies and procedures developed;
2. Review grant applications; and
3. Recommend which grants should be approved

There will also be compensation for expenses incurred while serving on this committee.

Once you have decided who you want to serve as the representative, that person will then need to apply for the appointment through the Governor's Boards & Commissions Office. Once the appointment is official, that will be relayed to our program staff.

More information about the program can be found on DOLA's LECS Webpage here.

Diverse candidates are encouraged to apply.
