The next Chief of Police for the City of Fort Collins, Colorado (population 167,500) will have the opportunity to lead a well-resourced, dedicated, and community oriented agency. Fort Collins Police Services (FCPS) is a CACP-accredited community-focused agency that provides full-service policing to a vibrant and complex community with a total staff of 327 employees, 213 of which are sworn officers, and a 2017 budget of $46.5 million. The Chief of Police is an at-will position that reports directly to the City Manager and is responsible for all functions and operations of the Police Department. Requires a Bachelor's degree, Executive Level Law Enforcement Training, and a minimum of 15 years of progressively responsible supervisory/management experience. Must possess, or have the ability to obtain within one year from date of hire, certification as a Colorado POST certified Peace Officer. The salary range for this executive position will be $132,765 – $185,235, which is supplemented with an excellent benefits package.
