HIDTA InitiativePosted: December 27, 2017 Friends, As many of you already are aware the Heroin Response Working Group at HIDTA has made the intentional and directed targeting of opioid and heroin supply sources a priority in 2018. A communication from Tom Gorman dated late October to regional task forces explained the overarching goals of HIDTA in this directed effort. I want to make sure our membership is aware of the direction enforcement will be going in our effort to impact the supply chains of opioids and heroin in our state. Although the Big-Ugly-Goal (BUG) has been identified, there is still much work to be done to make it operational. HIDTA will push out information to state law enforcement as the initiative develops and takes shape. We can anticipate an official kick-off sometime in second quarter 2018.
