State Establishes Permanent Medication Take-Back Locations

The Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment has established a permanent household medication take-back program, adding more than 42 drop-off locations in two dozen counties across the state.

Public Safety Leadership Program Updated Dates and Brochure

The Arapahoe County Sheriff's Office has partnered with Daniels College of Business to develop the Public Safety Leadership Program. 

"The primary objective of the Daniels College of Business Public Safety Leadership Development Program is to further develop public safety emerging leaders in our local communities. Participants will gain insight into their personal style, capabilities, strengths, and weaknesses and in turn understand their team’s capabilities, strengths, and weaknesses. Emphasis will be placed on developing leaders and understanding team dynamics. The program, developed in partnership with the Arapahoe County Sheriff’s Office, combines world-class speakers with personal assessments, leadership exercises, analytical assignments, and challenging activities to provide a life- changing experience."

FirstNet Colorado Announces The Launch of Online Training Course

Something for nothing! We are pleased to announce the launch of the FirstNet Colorado online training course titled "Introduction to Public Safety Broadband and FirstNet." The FREE course was developed to provide agencies and public safety practitioners an easy and quick way to learn about FirstNet and the public safety broadband network (PSBN). The self-paced course is available on demand through CO.TRAINAdditionally there will be two webinars offered on January 17 from 2:00-3:00 p.m. (MST) and January 26 from 10:00-11:00 a.m. (MST) on how to use the training module.  Find more information here!

Deadline Approaches For 2017 Coverdell Forensic Science Improvement Grant Program Funds

The Coverdell Forensic Science Improvement Grant Program Funds are now open for applications. An intent to apply must be submitted by January 20 and a full application must be completed by applicants by February 17.  The application and instructions (which contains the Intent to Apply) can be downloaded at: http://dcj.oajja.state.co.us/grant-programs/coverdell/solicitation-schedule.
